@council member hey guys! cosmic brilliantly suggested that we open a chat for council members to communicate among one another (saving the back and forth of rp discussion) since we've had such lag particularly with irl stuff causing the council to be lagging a bit behind. this can help y'all form ideas/decide what you'd want to do, then bring it to the court properly etc etc.

chose to do it like this so staff could monitor the chat and i can be here to answer questions and give input AS WELL as easily adding/removing people when we eventually swap council folks around w voting.

let me know if you have any questions!!!!! otherwise feel free to throw around chatter or ideas or things your characters you'd like to do etc etc

the two most pressing matters i would love to address are... the lack of Concrete Rules and the actual vetting system that the court had agreed on when the council was first made so!!

since we actually dont have any. solid rules iirc nor a real systen to determine if a cat should be allowed to join the court or not

i stare directly at sandy as i say that last part

but!! once everyone has seen this and are Mostly Here, i can make a little google doc so we can record any decisions we agree upon so that, later, we can show it to the rest of the court for them to decide upon :)

okay i am going to throw down. some anti murder ideas after being dead for a couple hours dsjfdsk

maybe some. other things for Other General Rules.......

- under no circumstance shall a court cat kill another court cat, unless in extreme circumstances where both the council and court agree that it was the only choice in the matter. those that do not abide by this rule will be severely punished, with the extreme being banished from the court land
- killing in the means of self-defense against outsiders is only permitted if a valid case can be given and everyone can agree that it was necessary in order to keep the court safe/oneself alive
- death should not be the final outcome of a fight. give mercy to the loser of the battle.

and by outsiders it's like. rogues, other group cats, raiders... not counting wild animals like coyotes, foxes, badgers, ect.

some other fun rules i can think of
- outsiders deemed friendly/non-aggressive are allowed to seek refuge in the court for a short amount of time if they are in need of help (starving, freezing, nursing/expecting kittens)
- kittens should not be allowed to train until 4 moons old (age is up 4 debate, but grizzly is used to kits starting their training at 4 months bc thats how the order did it and she herself saw nothing particularly wrong w/ that.)
- no singular cat is above any one else. while others may have 'high-ranking' roles and they may be looked up to for guidance, each member of the court has the same inherit value as one another.
- ravinefrost's rule of "please clean up after yourself". keep your den clean. throw out old prey bones. don't keep junk that may smell up the cave. i'm looking @ you crowsong and caesar

storm would def vibe with these ideas! they're slightly tentative about setting too many rules in place, n' more likely to fall on the side of seeing rules like clean up after yourself as more of a common sense thing :0c they'd agree solidly with the ideas put forward about killing, but when it comes to training they'd be adamant abt no cat younger than 6 moons starting training, though they'd be willing to waver on young cats interested in healing rather than fighting :0!

looked @ the court system doc and i Did find this little tid bit

New arrivals to the court are to interviewed by court members. This system may be fleshed out in the future, but the goal is to still allow a good flow of cats into the court while still ensuring that they have good intentions. The court wants ultimately to give most cats a chance.

uh! i like the idea of letting said cat hang out with a variety of cats (regular members, council, ambassadors, ect) in order to get a sort of vibe check on them

so like. Maybe the council would pick a handful of cats to accompany them, and at the end of 2 or 3 days, those cats would report back to the council about what they thought?

@council member I may open up an event to run through the weekend to let folks who have new characters coming in be properly introduced to the court and council. This could be a first test of the courts approval system AND? A nice ice breaker for fresh kiddos. How’s everyone feeling about that? or well, sorry friends @council member ! i just wanted to check in... i think it's Difficult to keep on top of all new characters by vetting through the Full council system at the moment. i want folks to be able to hop in-- since i think everyone's hard of energy and time rn, are you alright with sort of handwaving intro stuff (esp since event petered off)? if we run into issues with individual characters, we can address that irp, but for now maybe folks are their "trial periods" so to speak.

after all of this esp if there's a trial, lightning wants to revisit helsing and his actions

especially current actions, based on the fact that helsing Has Not Stopped Killing People and he was never punished for attempted murder of our dear friend icarus
